Keep jewelry away from harsh chemicals, bleach, chlorine, and aerosols like hairspray and sunscreen, as these can cause discoloration. 
Waterproof
Yes, stainless steel jewelry is generally considered waterproof enough for daily exposure to water, but prolonged contact with chemicals like chlorine (in pools) or salt (in the sea) can cause tarnishing over time. While the original steel color is highly water-resistant, especially when rinsed thoroughly after contact with salt or chlorinated water, gold-plated stainless steel jewelry may lose its shine in these conditions.  
Maintenance
To clean stainless steel jewelry, mix a few drops of mild dish soap with warm water and gently scrub the item with a soft cloth or soft-bristled toothbrush, rinsing with warm water and drying with a microfiber cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners, harsh chemicals, and storing pieces together to prevent damage and scratches.
